Kyra Minturn
KyraMinturn Sedgwick, born 19th August 1965, is an American actor. She is best known for playing the role of the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson (TVN crime drama The Closer). Sedgwick was awarded the Golden Globe Award in 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson as well as an Emmy Award 2010 for her portrayal. The show ended after its seventh season. Sedgwick's recurring role of Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also noteworthy. Sedgwick was awarded a Golden Globe nomination for her role as Madeline Wuntch on Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film credits include Oliver Stone's Born On the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000) and What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). She was also in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was born New York City to Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), who is a speech/family therapist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick, a venture investor. Her mother was Jewish was of English and Episcopalian origins. Sedgwick has publicly declared her Jewish roots and stated that she takes part in Passover seders.
