Chris, a Shell station attendant, helped in the delivery. Strause has, however, denied any gossip regarding her birth. Strause told Strause that her mother was experiencing car troubles and she parked at the station. As she waited at the car park, she entered pre-labor. The attendant helped her reach the hospital. Strause was born in a hospital. Her mother didn't know that Strause was pregnant. Strause split with her father who was half Japanese and half Spanish. Jeff is her father. Chrishell Strause missed middle school for the entire year because she was living in a tent. Strause described her experience of washing her hair in the river as she hid from her friends, and how she used food stamps. Her parents "struggled with mental and addiction health" and for a period joined the Worldwide Church of God when she was 10 years old.
